Blooming Well in June
As I pen this in early June, at last we are getting some summer weather and Crataegus persimilis prunifolia (below top) is in full flower. Masses of white blossom against bright mid green leaves. A lovely small garden tree. For those wanting something smaller but brighter, Philadelphus coronarius ‘Aureus’ (below and also shown on Home page) is covered in bright yellow leaves and sweetly scented white flowers that scent the garden air.
